SASSA Payment Dates: July 2026
SASSA will pay social grants in July 2026 over three consecutive working days for the main grants, with the SRD R370 grant paid separately later in the month. Below are the scheduled payment dates for all grant types, where you can collect, what to do if your payment is missing, and how to stay safe at pay points.
July 2026 Payment Schedule — All Grants
SASSA follows a fixed three-day payment cycle at the start of each month. The Older Persons Grant (Old Age Pension) and War Veterans Grant are paid first, followed by the Disability and Care Dependency grants on day two, and the Child Support and Foster Child grants on day three.

SRD R370 Grant Payment — July 2026
The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant of R370 is paid on a different schedule from the main social grants. SRD payments typically begin around the 13th of the month and roll out over several days as SASSA processes each beneficiary.
You will receive an SMS notification to the cellphone number registered on your application when your payment is ready. You can then withdraw at a PostBank ATM, any compatible bank ATM, or via a SASSA-authorised cash merchant.
Always check your application status and payment status at srd.sassa.gov.za before travelling to a collection point. This saves you unnecessary trips if your payment has not been approved for that month.
Where to Collect Your July 2026 SASSA Grant
South African Post Office (PostBank)
- Visit any Post Office branch with your green SASSA card and your PIN.
- Post Office branches are open Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00, and Saturday 09:00–13:00.
- PostBank ATMs operate 24/7 at most branches and selected shopping centres.
- Find your nearest branch at postoffice.co.za.
SASSA Community Pay Points
SASSA operates community pay points in rural and semi-urban areas, typically in community halls, schools, churches, or under tents at designated open-air sites. Pay points are active during the first three payment days of the month.
Bring your original green SASSA card and a valid South African ID document or passport. SASSA staff will verify your identity before paying you. Do not bring children or elderly relatives who are not collecting a grant, as this can create congestion.
Banks and Retail Cashback
- ABSA, Standard Bank, Capitec, Nedbank, and FNB — withdraw at ATMs or in-branch.
- Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n Pay, USave, and Boxer — use cashback at the till when paying for groceries.
- Cashback at till avoids ATM queues and is free of charge at most retailers.
- Check your SASSA card balance at any ATM using your PIN before collecting — confirm the payment has arrived before travelling.
What to Do If Your July Payment Is Missing
- Wait 24 hours after the official payment date before raising an alarm — bank processing sometimes causes a one-day delay.
- Check your card balance at an ATM to confirm whether the money has been deposited.
- Call the SASSA toll-free helpline on 0800 60 10 11 (free from landlines and most mobile networks) to report the missing payment.
- Visit your nearest SASSA office with your ID and SASSA card if the helpline cannot resolve the issue.
- Request a payment query at the SASSA office — staff will log your complaint and investigate within 5 working days.
- If your bank details have changed or your account has been closed, update your banking details at a SASSA office immediately to prevent further failures.
Safety Tips for Collecting Your Grant in July
- Collect your grant early — the first available day is typically less congested and safer.
- Never share your SASSA PIN with anyone, including family members, SASSA officials, or store staff.
- Shield the keypad with your hand when entering your PIN at ATMs and point-of-sale devices.
- Do not display cash in public after collecting — count your money privately.
- Spend what you need immediately on essential purchases rather than carrying large amounts of cash home.
- Travel with a trusted companion, especially after dark or in areas with high crime rates.
- Report suspicious persons at pay points to the security guard on duty or call SAPS on 10111.
- If your card is lost or stolen, call SASSA immediately on 0800 60 10 11 to block the card before your money is stolen.
